  • LAGO shopping center in Constance starts renovation work
  • Completion of the total area of 2,000 m² planned for Q4-2023
  • Gastronomic concept to strengthen positioning as an experience destination

Constance, January 12, 2023.

At the start of the new year, renovation work will begin at the LAGO Shopping Center in Constance as part of the conversion of existing space. The goal is to create additional offers for visitors and to use the potential as an adventure destination. The implementation of a new highlight, which allows a view of Lake Constance while lingering and creates a special ambience, will increase the attractiveness of LAGO. Over two floors on a total area of around 2,000 m², areas for experience gastronomy are to be created. With the planned move-in of the future gastronomic operator, the conversion is expected to be finalized by the fourth quarter of 2023. The property, for which Girlan Immobilien has been entrusted with center and property management since the opening, is in the portfolio of Union Investment’s open-ended real estate fund “UniImmo:Global”. Project management is the responsibility of the Girlan-PGL joint venture, which was closed in October 2022. The general contractor is TKS GmbH from Borken.

“We are convinced that, in the future, it will be high-quality shopping concepts in good locations with an event character that will enjoy lasting success. We are therefore looking forward to the further development of LAGO, which is already one of the best shopping centers in our Europe-wide portfolio,” says Lars Richter, Head of Asset Management Retail at Union Investment.

“By redesigning the areas, we are not only strengthening our positioning on site. We are also providing an additional point of attraction and can meet the needs of visitors even better by offering a broader range of products on site. Shopping, experiencing and lingering belong together more than ever. That’s why we also need spaces that allow people to come together in high quality,” says LAGO Center Manager Peter Herrmann.
