Hamburg, December 13, 2021 Paolo Francesco Calmetta, owner of Girlan Immobilien since April 2020, is the new managing director and will drive the strategic realignment of the company. The focus will be increasingly on medium-sized institutional real estate owners and investors who do not have their own platform in Germany. Paolo Francesco Calmetta, an internationally active entrepreneur and lawyer from Switzerland, will take over the strategic and operational management of the Hamburg-based retail and commercial real estate specialist with immediate effect. The previous managing director Martin Mörl is leaving the company by mutual agreement and will devote himself to new projects in the real estate industry.

“We want to grow substantially, both with existing and new customers,” says the new CEO and owner of Girlan Immobilien, Paolo Francesco Calmetta. “Over the past year and a half, we have restructured the Hamburg-based specialist and increased the company’s profitability. We now want to leverage Girlan Immobilien’s strengths – a competent team, a presentable track record and a renowned customer base – to generate substantial new business. In particular, we want to expand the service business with medium-sized institutional investors who do not have their own platform.” Calmetta continued, “I would like to thank Martin Mörl for the successful cooperation and his great commitment during the restructuring phase.”

Girlan Immobilien is headquartered in Hamburg and manages real estate and investment assets with a volume of approximately 1.75 billion euros on behalf of well-known owners and investors, such as international and national real estate funds, family offices and pension funds. The range of services covers the entire life cycle of a property. Girlan Immobilien develops and manages shopping centers, department stores and mixed-use properties, among others.
