Hamburg, February 25, 2015 – Prelios Immobilien Management has concluded a comprehensive management agreement for the “Schlossberg Center,” located in Marburg’s city center. As a full-service real estate service provider, Prelios will be responsible for center management, leasing, and both commercial and technical property management for the shopping center, which comprises approximately 12,200 m² of rental space.

The Schlossberg Center, situated on Universitätsstraße, is home to major tenants such as C&A, Lidl, New Yorker, Deichmann, Vero Moda, a fitness studio, and AOK health insurance, among others.

“The Schlossberg Center in Marburg, featuring a grade-A retail profile, is a prime investment property that is excellently integrated into the city center and attracts many visitors daily. Through continuous optimization measures, we will utilize the shopping center’s existing potential in the interest of the owner,” said Martin Mörl, Managing Director of Prelios Immobilien Management. “This management agreement is further evidence of the trust that investors have in our management expertise,” added Mörl.

Located near Marburg’s old town, the Schlossberg Center is the result of extensive renovations carried out in 2001 on the former “Horten” department store, which originally opened in 1973. Due to its hillside position, the shopping center’s first floor has direct street-side access from the rear. The property includes more than 8,000 m² of retail space for lease, while an additional 4,000 m² comprises office and other spaces. Additionally, 64 parking spaces are available in the basement. The Schlossberg Center is owned by a German Spezialfonds, managed on behalf of institutional investors.

Beyond shopping centers and department stores, Prelios Immobilien Management also develops, sells, and manages office and commercial buildings, as well as hotels and mixed-use properties across various locations in Germany.
