Hamburg, May 29, 2015 – The groundwork for the development plan of the Husum Shopping Center, which is being developed by Prelios Immobilien Management in downtown Husum, was set last week. Following a public project presentation by Prelios and the architectural firm nps tchoban voss, the city’s Environmental and Planning Committee unanimously approved the resolution to initiate the development plan (B-Plan). During the presentation, details on the project scope, the current planning status, and initial façade designs for the Husum Shopping Center (working title) were shared. The development plan procedure serves as the foundation for securing building rights, with the final resolution expected in the first quarter of 2016. Prelios has already begun pre-leasing the available spaces and will also manage the shopping center upon its scheduled completion in early 2018.

Martin Mörl, Managing Director of Prelios Immobilien Management, stated: “The Husum Shopping Center project is taking shape. The resolution passed by the Environmental and Planning Committee is a key milestone in securing building rights. We are particularly pleased that the decision was unanimous, which underscores the quality of our location concept and the strong local support in Husum for the revitalization and enhancement of the old town.”

Current plans for the Husum Shopping Center envision a total area of 10,000 to 12,000 square meters, along with a three-story parking garage offering approximately 650 parking spaces—designed to serve as Husum’s central parking facility. The concept includes a well-balanced, modern tenant and retail mix with around 35 differently sized rental spaces, catering to sectors such as groceries, textiles, drugstores, fashion, services, gastronomy, and healthcare. Special emphasis is placed on complementing the existing retail landscape, ensuring high visitor appeal, and seamlessly integrating the development into the port city.
